zg_shadows“It was a clean op,” Firinne said, lazily, as she sprawled on the sofa with a charcoal grey cat on her lap. “The infernalist…R’klish…went down. And I did get to see the SFS fighting at their full potential, which frankly made it all worthwhile…”
She tickled the cat underneath the chin and yawned slightly.
”The ritual apparently did have some kind of unpleasant side effects. There was a dragon of some kind which briefly manifested and then vanished. I have no idea what that means. Everyone was shouting about some kind of worm, but I really didn’t know what that meant.”
She shrugged.
”Either way, it doesn’t matter to us. Human fatalities were low, the men in white accept that our community does not need to take any liability for it, and I can write up a full report on the SFS’s capabilities. So, it all worked out in the end.”
She chewed on her lip thoughtfully. “They are nice boys,” she said. “Well, awesomely powerful Elders, really. But also nice boys. I really don’t want to throw down with them, and not just because I am entirely aware they would kill me.
”What I would give to get them blood bound.”
And she sighed, for a moment, and then went back to stroking the cat, running her fingers through its soft grey fur.
