Writing Tips

I've been enjoying writing a lot of stuff lately, but I'm not entirely happy with the way some of the stuff reads back. One big area of weakness IMO is my conversation interchanges, they seem very stilted and wooden and all the characters tend to talk the same way.

Can anyone recomend some good writing guides or sites where I can practice and post short stories that might not be WoD? Also, are there any other areas that people think I don't do so well on?
