Repercussions from a very short scene last night...

There's chocolates in the waiting room, though I'm afraid there aren't any strawberry cremes left. Rae

She clicked <Send> and sat back, feeling pleasantly guilty as she tucked her other leg up onto the expensive executive computer seat and absently savoured the last traces of the sugary chocolate on her tongue. The roses in their impromptu vase on the corner of her desk seemed to glow in the single shaft of sunlight that she'd carefully centred them in. Before she returned to her work she paused briefly to gaze at them in renewed surprise, and once again wrap herself in the warmth she had felt on seeing Kansas's hopeful smile, like an exuberant puppy desperately hoping it could wag its tail.

Like an exuberant puppy...

There was a whimper from beneath her desk. Rehema hastily shoved the chair away from the desk and bent down over her crossed legs.

"Shh, shh", she whispered, reaching into the depths of the leg well, and almost banged her head on the desk as a chime from her computer indicated that she'd received a new email.

Can the person who took last week's newspapers from the waiting room please give back the page with the prize crossword? A.

Rehema looked back down under the desk, winced, and wondered how much longer she could really put off getting a house of her own.
