it had been a hard night, maggs had a john that beet on her if no one had followed her down the ally, he probaly would have killed her for the cash she held. braking that skums arm had been a plesure for maggs, a little payment to her for all the favours given out.
maggs was renow for being the second boss on this street. oh there was the pimps first. but no matter how many time a pimp put a girl out on maggs street, if they did not make the cut then they got hurt or run off. maggs and her self had a little understanding. a little posentage changed hands and maggs turned a blind eye to her driftings in and out maggs street.
"dam girl you take that john down like you got training." maggs pointed out picking up the flutting bills he had planed on taking.
"narrr just grew up in a larg lot of boys and they play dirty" i grin at her casting my eyes about the ally once more.
"well you do well by me." she straighten her whore cloths and starts for the entrance. "you best not make a habit of following me girl?"
"narr just met that john befor" i lie flawlessly "he do me out of a good nights pay and madom cained my ass balck"
"i see why you broke his arm girl." maggs calls back as she get back on the street spreding the word no girl tonight goes alone.
staying in the ally way i look about. i had not come for the john or maggs, no something in the shadows had cought my eye. some sence told me all was not well and drew me to the puzzle. it was part of the resion i was on the street. my intel was some of the finest if alittle odd.
oh if you wanted the usual, then gabby was brill, she knew evey low life by sight and name.
but if you wanted the unseen dots conected then you called me in. no one would of gessed that the big maffia boss had conections down hear, no one but me. oh the strings was there if you looked hard enought. some times the strings was wight, or gray, or a balck void. still i had a sence for them.
what ever i had come for was now gorn and with a puzzled brow i returned to the street never knowing what i had saught was still there, hidden in plain sight, just stood very still and unbreathing.
